I have long held an interest in cryptography since I read David
Kahn's book "The Codebreakers" in 1967.
I found his book so fascinating that I called him at home
to tell him. He seemed genuinely surprised that someone
found the book as interesting as I expressed.
Actually, during my reading of the book, I could not put it
down and neglected other things.
I support and encourage the use of strong cryptography on
the Internet.
Just as we use envelopes to "hide" our messages
delivered through the U. S. Postal Service, so, when
appropriate, we should use strong cryptography to
"envelope" our messages across the Internet.
